Vice President's Message

I would like to thank everyone who helped with the Targeting Education Match, especially the RO’s and Match Staff.  The school and I are extremely grateful to everyone at LGC who pitched in to deliver a fine match for a great cause.  It was delightful to see all the parents and children flocking to the pin range to fire a gun for the first time!!!  The school has decided to pay the $1000 to LGC (for range rental), even though we fell just short at 99 competitors.  They were only required to pay $500 (below 100 competitors), but since everything was such a huge success in the concessions and T-shirt sales, they were compelled to pay the full amount.  The Agnus D’ei Academy Scholarship Fund received a check for a total of $4500!!!  This money will be put to good use, so that underprivileged children can still get a quality catholic education even if their family can’t afford it.  The outpouring of support from the sponsors and the local businesses was enormous!!!  I am happy to say that every shooter received a nice prize, and everybody went away with a smile on their face.  Thanks again.

As for the clubhouse project, some budget numbers were discussed, but the subject was tabled at the June meeting, and will be discussed further at the August meeting.  In short, we need to decide how aggressive we want to be with this project, yet still remain fiscally responsible.  We want to make sure that the club has enough funds to float expenses, and not cut ourselves short.  Please bring any ideas or input you may have to the August meeting.  Particularly, we are looking for fundraising ideas as well as new membership recruitment ideas.

Most importantly, get out and shoot this summer!!!
